Final Bloodwork Results

On November 23rd, I began extra blood work for the possibility of liver disease. I spent the next four weeks giving blood for various tests and today, January 3rd, I finally have my final results.

I have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. It’s been caught early so there is no irreversible damage and as long as I manage this it shouldn’t be much of an issue. I’m looking at it like diabetes. I just need to lose weight, eat better, and move more. That’ll keep the damage away which in return keeps the chance of liver cancer down.

To say this has been humbling is an understatement. I am so thankful this has become a best case scenario situation. I’m ecstatic that my future is still in my control and it’s up to me to make the lifestyle changes I need to stay healthy.

I’ve shed some tears over the past six weeks and today I want to shed some more but for another reason, the future seems just a bit brighter.
