A Few Good Things – Vol. 13
Star Wars Outlaws
I tend to play any new Star Wars game that comes along, but I was hesitant to give Outlaws a try. I’m not the biggest Assassins Creed fan and when Outlaws launched and featured stealth missions that would end the moment you were noticed, I knew it wasn’t the game for me. I’m more of a walk into a room, kill them all, and let the AI Gods sort them out.

Of course, Ubisoft made some patches and adjusted the gameplay and from what I heard the game was pretty solid. Then Stephen picked Outlaws up and between his gushing about the game and his gorgeous screenshots, I knew it was time to take advantage of the Black Friday sale.
So far, I’m only an hour or so into the game, but I’m enjoying it more than expected. I haven’t been into many story based games this year, but Outlaws hooked me pretty early on. I love a good third person adventure game, and doing all that in the Star Wars universe just makes it that much better.
Goshi Exfoliating Towel
I have no idea how I ran across this weird little towel, but I remember seeing it online shortly after watching Perfect Days. In that film, there is a scene where the main character uses a large shower towel, and it made me curious to know how that worked. I’m the type of guy who uses a fresh wash cloth every day in the shower, but my old dry man skin could use some extra exfoliation, so I picked up one of these towels just to see how it worked. I figured, worst case, my wife will use it.

Well, after a month or so, I can confidently say, I love this towel. My skin has never felt softer and places where dead skin reside all year long (like my elbows) are now dead skin free and soft. It’s a bit pricey, but its hard to imagine showering with using one a few times a week going forward.
A Six Dollar Optical Cable
Several years ago, I bought a Bose Soundbar at Costco. I’m not much of a Bose person, but it was on sale, and I was buying a TV so it seemed like a great time to splurge a little.
The soundbar works great, however, at least three or four times a week it’ll put itself in sleep mode and won’t turn back on via the remote. This happens at random, when the TV is off, and it’s incredibly frustrating to sit down and realize you have no sound. My wife just turns the TV sound on, which sounds terrible with our large ceiling, but I get up, unplug the unit and replug it back in to get it working. I’ve done this for years now, cursing that I’ll never buy another Bose again, every time.
Well, I decided to take yet another deep dive into trying to find updated firmware or something to fix this issue, and I came up empty-handed once again. That’s when I got the idea that maybe I should replace the optical cable that came with the unit. I mean, I hadn’t tried that, and I probably should have three years ago. So, I’m sure you know where this is going. I spent $6, and now I don’t have to unplug the unit every other day.
Long story short: Bose makes a decent soundbar, but a shitty optical cable.
Clutterbug
A few months ago, I was looking for something related to cleaning when I ran across a recommendation to take the Clutterbug quiz. When I realized this was something created by a YouTuber, I cringed a little, but I gave it a try and took a quick glance at her content. I was surprised to see some useful advice for organizing based on how you best deal with things.

My wife was recently diagnosed with ADHD, and with that diagnosis has come some understanding on why she struggles keeping up with things and staying organized. Clutterbug also has ADHD and has some content created specifically for individuals dealing with the disorder. I cannot stress how amazing this has been for my wife. We are in the midst of turning everything around in our home and for the first time in her life, she feels like she can stay on top of things and keep things together. It’s been wonderful and has taken some of the stress off me to keep up with everything.
