The James Bond Video Game Songs
Recently, IOI revealed the first cinematic trailer for the new upcoming James Bond video game. Having been a die-hard James Bond fan since the release of the film Goldeneye, and a video game fan since the release of The World is Not Enough, I am very excited to see what they do with the property.
One question that looms is how will they handle the theme song. It’s not discussed nearly as often as it should be, but the James Bond video games have had some fantastic songs created specifically for the games. Mya, who was also featured as a character in the game Everything or Nothing performed the title song for that game and its probably in my top ten James Bond songs.
Also released the same year as Bloodstone, was Goldeneye 007, a reimagining of the hit Nintendo 64 game Goldeneye. While not as critically beloved as Goldeneye, I found Goldeneye 007 to be a fantastic game that made good use of the Wii motes and featured a darker take on the Goldeneye story that was fitting on the then current James Bond, Daniel Craig. The soundtrack featured some catchy songs, and also a cover of Tina Turner’s Goldeneye, this time performed by Nicole Scherzinger.
