A Few Good Things - Vol. 27
A Few Good ThingsStage Tour
I have this memory of sitting in my chair in front of the TV jamming out to Boston's More Than a Feeling with my Guitar Hero guitar in hand. I was born with no musical gifts what so ever, but who doesn't like to hold a guitar and pretend like you are rocking out? It had a great time playing Guitar Hero.
The Guitar Hero/Rock Band games oversaturated the market and went from something fun with friends, to something that just felt forced. I don't remember getting rid of my guitars, but they just magically disappeared one day and like so much in life, you don't know that you miss it until years later.
There have been fan made games like Clone Hero, but it always seemed like more trouble than it was worth. Stage Tour was recently announced, created by some of the same folks who worked on Guitar Hero, and I've been loosely keeping up with it. When pre-orders went live, I figured what the heck. I know my wife enjoyed the Guitar Hero games, so I think this will be a fun surprise in December.
Happy Endings
I stumbled upon this forgotten sitcom from 2011 a little over a week ago, and despite not being a fan of binge watching, I've pretty much finished it up. Sometimes a show just clicks with your sense of humor, and this show did exactly that. I love it and I really wish there was more of it.
Dugout Dads
Dugout Dads is a web series featuring a large portion of the cast of The Sandlot, along with Danielle Fishel. Is it a great show... no, but its a fun way to pass forty-five minutes seeing the old gang back together again.
Don't Let Someone Else's Storm Become Your Climate
Retro Dad wrote yet another article that really resonated with me titled Don't Let Someone Else's Storm Become Your Climate. This post does a great job at taking you through how he mentally deals with folks that are negative/draining in a practical way. Recently, I've come to realize that I, too, give up too much of my energy to these vampires and I'm working to do better with boundaries and coping mechanisms so I don't allow so much toxicity into my life.
