November Update
Over the past week, I've tried to share something, but I just couldn't find the appropriate words. Having been online long enough to know that you're usually better off not posting something when you're emotional, I decided to keep my mouth shut. Instead, I moved each post I wrote into my private journal and just kept moving forward. Today, though, I think I'm finally at a good point where I can get this out, along with a few other things.
Last Monday, my wife was in a really bad car accident. It wasn't her fault. She was literally sitting in traffic when someone slammed into her and totaled her car. I won't post pictures or go into further detail since I've hired a lawyer, but needless to say, the last week has sucked quite a bit. I've spent way too much time in various doctors' offices and waiting rooms.
So, that's how my October ended and how my November has begun. Thankfully, work has been accommodating, and I've been able to work from home to care for her and take her to appointments. Of course, dealing with insurance, now a lawyer, and eventually buying a new car are all anxiety-inducing situations I'd rather avoid, but I guess that's just part of being an adult.
I'm still not watching much TV. It's been about a month now, and the urge just isn't there. This has afforded me more time to play video games, which has been nice. In fact, this morning I finally purchased 007: First Light, thanks to PlayStation's Black Friday sale. I've always loved the character of James Bond, whether it's the books, movies, or video games. So, despite not being a huge fan of the Hitman series, I'm excited to see what IO Interactive has put together.
I'm still working out regularly using The Pump app. In fact, I just completed another program, and I'm feeling quite good. I can actually see where I've packed on some muscle, and that's super nice. I do need to get back to counting calories, though, as my diet has suffered over the past month. My original plan was to start counting again on November 1st, but I think that's going to have to wait for now. I only have so much mental energy, and planning my eating that strictly takes more out of me than I'm willing to give right now.
I'm also still using my vibration plate and slant board daily, along with practicing Foundation Training and a bit of yoga. My body continues to feel really good, and I think some of the issues I've had with my left foot have finally gone away completely, which is amazing. I went from plantar fasciitis to my ankle popping nonstop and my calf being extremely tight, to now... everything just feels normal. It's wild considering that foot has been jacked up for years.
I've also been making some small upgrades to my wardrobe. I guess feeling a bit trimmer makes you want to wear nicer things. I've bought a few new pairs of shoes and some new shirts. I'm going to slowly work some of these into what I wear to work, but mostly this is for me outside of work. Just some nicer things to wear when I'm out and about that aren't the usual T-shirt and jeans.
That's all I got today. I just wanted to post something, since my last post was written technically like ten years ago, although I re-wrote it in September. I have a couple other old posts I may post in the next few days, but I'm no longer of the belief that you just post something to post something. I like to wait until I have something worth saying or something I want to say and right now, I'm just tired and waiting for life to calm down a little.
